Song To Sing Within A Circle

Fur and feather and scale and skin
Different without, but the same within
Blood of many, but one of soul
Through all creatures are the gods made whole.

Midnight Chant For Increased Power

To Bring in the Energy of the Night

Afew minutes before midnight

Best if outside but can be done inside infront of an open window

Stand with legs slighly apart

Raise both hands your hands

Feel the soothing energy of the night

Flitering your consciousness

brushing against your body tugging at your hair

Take 3 deep breathes

Listen

Wait

Gaze up at the dark sky

If moon and clouds are present watch them

Embrace the energies

Sense them transforming you

In a whispered voice say

O STARS WHIRLING THROUGH THE INKY ROUND

O POWER HIDING FROM THE LIGHT

O BLACK CURLING ON THE GROUND

O SECRECTS BINDING IN THE NIGHT

O EBON TREASURES AND OWLS SWEET CRY

O HAUNTING FORCES OF THE DEEP

O MISTY MEASURES OF CIRCLING SKY

O DAUNTING COURSES THAT YOU KEEP

COME TO ME WITH YOUR SHADOWED LIGHT!

FILL ME WITH YOUR MAGIC POWER

ENFOLD ME WITH YOUR ARCANE MIGHT!

BE HERE AT THIS MYSTIC HOUR

Let your arms fall to their sides

Dont be afriad

The cool energies of the earth will not harm you

Willingly accept them

Drink in the power of the night sky that the earth has given you

Feel the changes within you

Show apperciation to the elements

Raise your hands to face

North=Earth

East=Air

South=Fire

West=Water

Lift hands above head reach into the night itself

then touch the ground before your feet lightly

the positive power of midnight vibrates within you

Now you can do positive spells

Song of the Battle of the Holly and Oak King
Submitted By: Dan Day

This came about a couple of years ago for our coven's Midsummer Ritual. Our HPS asked me to "write something about the Holly and Oak King," so I did . . .

THE BATTLE OF THE HOLLY AND OAK KING
(sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies)

Listen to a story 'bout a King named Oak,
who lost this throne and his crown got broke.
Happens every year by the King of Holly,
makes you wonder why these guys are always jolly.

Holly sneaks up on Midsummer's Day,
scares the crap out of Oak and sends him on his way.
With Oak now gone, Holly rules without a hitch,
'til Yuletide comes and paybacks are a bitch.

Bitch that is, revenge, get even - king style.

The Goddess sits back, watching the ole boys fight,
mostly she just laughs but tells 'em not to bite.
And this is the way it is, rolling with the Wheel,
Holly and Oak split the year; it's not that bad a deal,
Holly and Oak split the year; it's not that bad a deall.

I am the four winds,
I breath and am by their presense,
I am the elements and their family,
They are my kin.

I am the freedom of the wind,
I am the agility of the fire,
I have the humor of electricity,
My love of nature from the earth,
My ignorance the darkness,
My truth I tell the light,
My attitute...the ice.

Of theese things I will always be,

Blessed Be
