Another Bloody Day
Waking the warm sunlight peeked through the crevasses of the leaves spilling onto Narmarcíel's face. Another dawn sent a warm wind jinggling the leaves about. Narmarcíel smiled opening one eye then the other realizing she hadn't awoke within her dream lover's grasp. She yawned and then sighed poutingly. Not truely ready to have to wake up she streched nearly losing her balance and plumiting to the ground below her large tree limb.
She straightened herself and leaned her head back down against the bark. Her trobbing head ache from the day prior now lost in the sleep. She looked down to her feet which were awfully warm and found Blah resting peacefully over them. She closed her eye's and pulled her winter blanket back up over her again. Her previous thoughts from the day before reentered her head. Who was that man? And what in Rhydin happened yesterday? And why in the
abyss was he sad? She didn't know any of the answers. And who is Mooren? She had already decided that Mooren and the cloaked man were two different people. Angered at not knowing the answers she threw the blanket off of her and jumped down from the tree. Blah stirred but readjusted himself snuggling under the blanket and curled back up.
She grumbled angerly about. Huffing and puffing she began to search for some kendling for a morning fire. She kicked and stomped on the forest floor upset with the perdicumum she encountered yesterday. Spotting a large peice of wood she pulled it from under a pile of brush when a sprite fluttered about very close to her face. Grumbling still but wishing to be poliete, "Morning," she said in sprite tongue. The sprite widened her eye's at the
elfess, "Good morning Jannarin," came as light as a whisper from the happy sprite's mouth. Narmarcíel shook her head at the sprite, "I am Narmarcíel Arë not Jannarin." The sprite looked to the elfess unconvinced, "okay if you say so." Narmarcíel turned back moving under the tree which she had slept and began piling rocks about in a circle, the sprite had followed. Building up the wood and conjuring up a fire ball she ignited the wood causing
crackles and pops to sound in the air. The sprite fluttered about yawning it seemed and looked Narmarcíel over deciding that Jannarin definatly had gotten old quickly. "Why don't you want any one to know you're Jannarin?" the sprite questioned her. "Because I'm not Jannarin. I'm from the Isil Realm and my parents named me Narmarcíel," she nearly snapped at the sprite who still didn't believe her and the sprite huffed really wanting to know why.
A loud snore came from above the two and the sprite perked and looked up, "What's that?" Narmarcíel continued looking into the fire warming her small hands, "A fuzzy dragon." The sprites curiousity took over and soon the sprite was fluttering about over Blah. He had lost the blanket covering him and continued to snore loudly. Narmarcíel had been thankful she was a heavy sleeper. The sprite dropped down and walked up to Blah's nose. She poked
at his nose which tickled him. He wiggled it and then sneezed sending the sprite into the air. She giggled and landed on the top of Blah's snout. The fur tickling her feet she ploped down and starred at the new strange creature curiously. Narmarcíel looked up as if to see anything but she didn't and Blah crunched up his nose the sprite tickling it. Finally, Blah got upset at all the tickles and opened his eyes finding a funny little bug before
him that giggled. The sprite was absolutely thrilled at him until Blah tried swatting at his nose nearly slapping the sprite who flew up into the air laughing. She fluttered about and around him and of course he chased but he couldn't catch the little bug that laughed at him and he ended falling flat on his rear end. Plop!
Narmarcíel looked at him and shook her head and the sprite came swooping down near Narmarcíel laughing. Blah rubbed his back side and stuck his tongue out at the sprite. Blah! The sprite looked to Narmarcíel, "I have to go now. Bye Jann!" and the sprite took off. Narmarcíel glared at the sprite and then shook her head turning to Blah, "Do ye know who Jannarin is? Er how 'bout Mooren?" Blah simply tilted his head at her not understanding a
word she said as she figured he would have. Blah skuttled over to her and hopped on her lap wanting attention. Narmarcíel grumbled and then ruffled his fur and sratched his back.
Heading north down a path in the woods Narmarcíel spotted a sign and looked to her side as if to see Blah who peered over her shoulder from her pack. "Wanna go adventure?" she asked miscieviously. Blah! She laughed realizing she was going to have to teach him some new words since his answer for everything was Blah. She moved to the sign. To the east it said Kan Nea and to the west Rhydin. Hmmm... she smiled regaining her mischievious gleam Kan
Nea!
Hours had passed the sun was nearly ready to fade behind the mountains when Narmarcíel arrived at the end of the path. Before her lay nothing but blackened ground. She bent down, Blah jumped out of her pouch and she touched the blackened earth. Quickly she pulled her hand black for it was hot to the touch and she decided it was cooled lava. What happened here? she thought as she looked over the land that was supposed to be Kan Nea. Blah just
stood blinkering and then looked up at Narmarcíel. She looked down at him and sighed, "So much for adventuring today. We best be hurrying back to Rhydin any-a-ways, it'll be night soon and this is last place I wanna be after dark." Blah looked at her as she bent down and held the pack open for him. He jumped in and they hurried back down the way they came.
Eventually they arrived at the HoF Day Dream Inn and hurriedly went inside taking a stool at the bar. Narmarcíel ploped down in her seat and set her pack on the stool next to her. Blah was sleeping soundly, his fourth nap that day. Narmarcíel took no notice of the guest's in the Inn and sat silently thinking of her last few days. A man called out to her in a fimilair voice, "Canna I get ye anything?" She turned looking up finding Omega standing
behing the counter. "Ummm...," she paused, "A minotuar twist please milord," she said softly. He stood there just kinda blinkering, "How exactly is that made?" She smiled "Well it's orange juice, Minotaur splash which is that funny looking bottle over there," she pointed to his right at a shelve, "And grape juice." He gathered up the juices and turned to her playfully, "Shaken or stirred?" She giggled lightly, "Shake it milord." He fixed up the
drink and set it on the counter when her pack jumped up. She took the drink sipping it not paying much attention to the pack which seemed to be moving about on it's own. "Did ye realize that yer pack be jumpin about?" he questioned her as he came around the counter watching the pack move. "Uh hunh," she said nodding.
The pack's top cover flipped open and Blah poked his furry head out looking about seeing Omega he stuck his tongue out at him. Blah! "What is that?" Omega asked looking at the strange creature. "A fuzzy dragon," Narmarcíel turned facing the pack and Omega. "A dragon? You're kinda small ain't ye?" he said to Blah. "Yeah he be a strange one too he e'en got fur," Narmarcíel replied. "'Lo he do!" looking closer at the strange creature. Blah
hopped out of the pack and jumped about the Inn. Narmarcíel sipped her drink again when Blah hopped over to Omega and poked at his leg. "Ye better watch it," Omega said to Blah who hopped up in the stool standing straight up to match his height and took his two strange looking hands griping his face and kissing him..
SMMOOOCH!
Omega stood there with a disgusted look on his face. Blah stuck his tongue out and raseberried him. Omega began to tell the wee dragon off then stopped wondering exactly why he was talking to a dragon when Narmarcíel grabbed Blah and pulled him back to the pouch. "Sorry milord," she cowered a bit as he searched for a napkin to wipe off the dragon drool. She placed him back with in the pouch with a pack of rations and tied it up. "Nae don worry
bout it," Omega said to her, "So where'd ye find 'im?" Narmarcíel sipped her drink, "Ye mean where'd he find me." "Well? Where'd he find ye?" he asked. "I was knocked out on the street walk and he hopped on me," she answered. "I don e'en wanna know why you were knocked out on the street," he said smiling. She smiled in return, "good it's hard ta explain." The two finished their drinks together and Omega left the inn. Narmarcíel went up after
purchasing a room.
Cuddled up in her blanket in the corner of the room she sat sadly. Blah was curled up near the fire and sleeping restfully. Another bloody day... she sighed and closed her eyes as the tears trickled down her cheeks.
