Aianna stepped into her mother’s home looking about briefly when a light caught her eyes.  She looked about the room searching for the light.  There, on her bed where she once lay to rest at night, a pouch made of fine silver velvet.  Aianna moved to the pouch and carefully opened it peeking inside at first.  She reached her hand in and felt a leathery texture within.  She pulled it out finding that it was a leather book.  A symbol of a moon and three stars with an Elven “J” intertwined rest in the corner of the black leather book.  Aianna opened the book, finding that the entire script had been written in Elven.  It was understood that the book was, in fact, Jannarin’s journal.  Aianna went back to the pouch and felt within again.  A piece of paper brushed across her fingertips.  She removed the paper and read it out loud, for this was not written in Elven.

            Dearest Aianna,

I have left these for you.  I know there will be someone about to teach you along your path.  Though if they don’t come along quickly, learn the ways of the elves from my journal.  ‘Tis all I know to show you the ways.  The bracelet will help you as it had me in times of great need.  But I warn you not to break a spell when using the bracelet.  It will cause burns upon the wrist, and you will know of its power if it glows.  The Dream Wizard is connected to the bracelet and he may annoy you from time to time but he is a guide as well.  He can help you learn new things as he taught me.  The bracelet is fused with the power of love and its true name is Alicaster.  When calling its true name, it will reveal a measure of power beyond that of most.  Be sure not to call upon its true name too often for you will end in rest for many days.  ‘Tis all I can offer thee.  Be well and blessings send upon the winds.

            Lady Jannarinthanlalass Rahl

Aianna looked into the silvery pouch once more and felt around when a metal texture cooled the tips of her fingers.  She pulled it from the pouch, finding it to be a silver pouch with a lovely crafted Elven design.  Opening the box, a rich, burgundy velvet held the bracelet within.  Moving it from its resting place and cuffing it to her wrist, the bracelet’s violet stone began to glow.  The power sending tingles over the young one’s body and the light continued to glow, filling the room with a brilliant light.  From the corner of her eyes a figure appeared and began moving closer to her.  Aianna looked to the approaching figure finding that there was no danger emanating from the figure.  It moved closer still and as Aianna looked, the most beautiful violet Elven eyes stared back at her.  “Jannarinthanlalass!” Aianna cried out.  Jannarin smiled and sat by the child elfess.  “Aye, lass,” Jannarin’s soft voice answered the child as she gathered the young elfess up in her arms, holding her close.  “I had known that it would be too hard on you to see me go, so with the bracelet you always have a link of sorts to me.  Just know that I will only come in times of great need and I will guide you as I feel you need it,” Jannarin said.  Aianna nodded as Jannarin released her seating the two on the bed.  Aianna looked up at Jannarin now as Jannarin still held a smile on her face.  The room still glowed in brilliance.  “The book contains the history of my life, my spells and many protriates of those around me.  Much can be learned from these,” Jannarin told Aianna.  Aianna looked down though, “But I can nae read Elven, milady.”  Jannarin lifted the child’s chin.  “You can now,” Jannarin said as she smiled brightly.  “I must go now though, for Falis is waiting. I love thee, Aianna.”  As Jannarin said her last words, she faded into the light.

Aianna sat with a reassurance holding within.  She flipped through the paged of the book, now understanding and comprehending the elven letters.  Deciding to start from the book’s beginning, Aianna began to read.

“I am Princess Jannarinthanlalass Soultious, daughter of Dahek Soultious, the Wizard King, a high elf of the Forest of No Return. I came through the land of Lodoss living in Mir Elen Erin 118 years ago.  I recently became an initiate druid.  I was in Zaxxon Forest aways from the Druid’s Grove when I spotted my brother and his party.  He spotted me from where he stood and I hopped down from the tree.  I introduced myself to his company and hugged my brother tightly.  There’s my sweet brother Pico, a priest of Falis Cyric, the lunatic wizard Feldon and finally grumbly little dwarf Goldar.  I believe my brother may have become a thief but I do not yet have proof.  After out meeting that warm day, we went to the town of Alania.  That was the 16th of the Hammer, 1483.”

“Today is the first of Chess, 1483.  I have learned something that strikes me deeply within. We have ventured to the tombs of Heroes who defeated all mot one of the Nine Glyph Masters.  In Chellin’s tomb rested a statue and casket of him.  Yet in Jhessail’s tomb there is not.  In these horrid dreams that I have in the nights, the ninth Glyph Master calls me Jhessail.  There isn’t a casket for I am Jhessail.  I have been back in time and if I dare venture I will be returning back in time soon.  I believe that Yorel’s tomb will hold my answer.”

“Thantius has died upon this day.  ‘Tis a day of mourning and I wear purple now as an elfess shall do when her love has died.  We have hopes that the priest can heal him and that we can accomplish our tasks as he had set for us.”

“I arrived in Qualinesti today.  I don’t really know how but I have arrived here.  I am searing for a way back home to Mir Elen Erin.”

“’Tis been months on end, and I fear I will not find the gateway which brought me here but one has told me of another gateway which may contain the path to my land.”

“I have arrived to the realm of Rhy’Din this day.  I went to a tavern called the Red Dragon, meeting a fine young lass named Ami.”

“In the past few weeks I have spent nights on end with Lord Krighton I.  He is so grumbly and I love it. I think I have fallen for him.  Mayhap tonight I will tell him..”

Aianna read on till the wee hours of the morning.  One thing hung in her head still, the book never having answered her question. “Jannarin had a brother?  She never said anything.”
